At Sternfenster, the environmental impact our manufacturing and installation process provides is something we continue to improve and reduce.
Combined with the impact of our products on the environment and sustainability, we utilise our partnerships with Deceuninck, Smart Architectural Systems and Saint-Gobain to work towards improved sustainability and energy efficient solutions by 2050.
With sustainability covering all stages of our manufacturing and installation process, we continually strive to improve our impact with the role our supply partners play.
Through our partnerships with Deceuninck, Smart Architectural Systems and Saint-Gobain, we can continue providing our customers with the best sustainable and environmentally friendly products.
As one of our key supply partners, our relationship with Deceuninck forms a critical part of our sustainability efforts. Aligning with their 2050 sustainability strategy, we can continue offering our customers their UK-leading sustainable window and door systems.
Outlined within their vision from 2021, Deceuninck aims to cut CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions from their operations by 2050. To achieve this, Deceuninck is investing in state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing of their products to provide sustainable solutions for homeowners and businesses.
Providing 100% recyclable aluminium systems, Smart Systems are another of Sternfenster’s sustainable supply partners. Using responsibly sourced aluminium, we can continue to recycle up to 24% of aluminium used within old products.
Aluminium is a material within our Smart System products that can be used repeatedly. Continuing their excellent high performance, a large majority of aluminium made is still used daily.
Being 100% recyclable, Smart ensures their aluminium recycling process uses minimal energy. Modernising this process, recycled aluminium makes up more than 24% of the aluminium created by Smart in 2021.
Saint-Gobain, our glass partner, has committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. By 2030, they intend to halve their water usage, cut carbon emissions, and use recyclable materials and packages across their product range.
One of the critical factors to achieve within their sustainability strategy is to lower carbon manufacturing within their facilities. By increasing the use of post-consumer recycled glass, they can create an alternative energy source that improves their products’ sustainability and efficiency.
At Saint-Gobain, they recycle 100% of their glass in-house to improve the reduction of post-industrial waste their suppliers create. Similarly, they repaired their UK furnaces in 2022 to significantly increase capacity and lower the energy consumption of their products.
