If a burglary or a break in were to take place within a property as a result of a hardware product failure, your customers would be covered by our Secureplus guarantee. We can offer you, the installer / supplier, up to £12,000, or the equivalent, towards the cost of the window or door that requires repair or remaking. We would also cover the cost of the installation, less any specialist equipment required (scaffolding, cranes, etc). We can pay directly to you, and £1000 as a goodwill gesture to your customer for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

If a break in were to occur, and a claim was made on the end user’s household insurance, we would contribute up to £500 towards any excess incurred to the homeowner. All we would require is a copy of the insurance claim form, a copy of their receipt showing the payment excess and we would provide the reimbursement. This excludes break-ins where access has been gained by breaking the glass. All our payments are subject to terms and conditions which you can find here.

• Any products covered must be fully paid for.
• Products must have been installed by one of our Approved Installers.
• Installation must be to industry standards.
• Products covered must be supplied to Secured by Design standards (windows and doors).
• The installation must be registered with us within 28 days of the installation to get a Sternfenster Secureplus reference number.
• The security guarantee is non-transferable.
• Products supplied must be manufactured in accordance with the care and maintenance guides.
• The products must not have been modified and or repaired.
• The guarantee will not apply if the products have been subjected to abuse, vandalism, negligence or subjected to forces and stresses beyond recommended levels prior to the break-in.
• We must be notified in writing within 7 days of the break-in, including the crime reference number and your Sternfenster Secureplus reference number (which you will get once you have registered).
• We will send an engineer to the site within 10 days** of receiving your claim and will access the products to determine which components failed during the break-in and whether the terms and conditions have been met. Please provide access and cooperation in order for the service engineer to assess the claim, between Monday-Friday 09:00 and 17:00. **Excluding Bank holidays and Christmas where response times may vary.
• If your break-in to the property is judged to have occurred due to the failure of a hardware component not supplied by us, or due to access being gained by breaking the glazing component then none of the above benefits will apply.
• The products must have been securely closed and locked, windows must not be in the night vent position and door locks must be fully engaged prior to break-in occurring.
• The decision of our engineer is in final respect of:
  • Whether the product has been maintained in accordance with our instructions
  • Whether any modifications/repairs have been made
  • Whether entry has been gained through the failure of our product
• The guarantee is applicable to residential properties in the UK only, commercial properties are excluded.
