We have two websites for the trade business :-
www.sternfenster.co.uk has general details about who we are and our product ranges. www.sfplus.co.uk is only accessible by our trade customers and has all their account details along with information such as quotes we've done, all live orders, delivery details, downloads such as technical manuals, product bulletins and much more.

We have two computer packages for our customers :-
Quick Quote - this is a program written in-house and exclusive to Sternfenster which enables customers to log and track their customers and prepare professional looking quotes on their home PC's or laptops. There are other useful things such as profit reports, quick order forms (which can be printed and faxed or emailed directly), customer invoices and lead reports. Window Designer - this is our main manufacturing software and is used for the larger customers who want to be able to key on their own frames and email jobs to us. This is quite expensive which is why we wrote Quick Quote which most of our customers have.

All our frames and glass units are barcoded, which means we are able to track them through the factory and ensure that they get loaded onto the right vehicles. We are currently working on the next stage which is scanning the products off the vehicles so that we have complete traceability.

Total customer satisfaction is of paramount importance and is at the heart of everything we do! As a family run business we enjoy a special relationship with our customers, they are able to speak directly to the MD any time they want. I realise that many people say this BUT we genuinely work hard to ensure that our customers as 100% satisfied. In order to ensure that we have a method for checking this, our Qulaity department pro-actively contacts customers on a rotation basis to ensure that they are satisfied, any issues are dealt with quickly and brought to the attention of the whole management team so that everyone is kept on their toes!

We recognise that changing suppliers is a major step and we therefore work hard to reassure customers that once they have made the change we will be there for them. We guarantee that no matter how hard we try something at some point will go wrong, the test of how good we are as a supplier is how well we deal with this and how quickly we ensure that the customers issue is resolved. This starts with ensuring that our Technical reps are present during the first few deliveries

Unlike many fabricators we do not spend masses of money on advertising as we try to build long term relationships with our customers (many of our larger trade customers have been buying from us since we started doing trade frames in the early 1990’s), this means that we do not plan to lose 20% of our customers which means that we do not have to continually find new ones to replace them and consequently we have a more stable business.

Unlike many fabricators we do not try and flood every part of the country with customers, if we start a trading relationship with a customer in one area we are happy to help them build their business and offer them an exclusive area so that they are not competing with other Stern Fenster Customers.

Again, unlike most trade fabricators we actually have experience in the retail market, Starglaze Windows currently turns over approx. £2 million a year so we are able to offer help and advice to our trade customers on lead generations, sales training, showroom design, payment rates for installers, in fact anything and everything to do with running a retail business. This means that if customers wish we are available for business support and advice on all aspects of running a business.

As each customer gets their own order/cut off day they should be able to plan there deliveries in line with our standard lead times. As an extra check for them our Transport department also contact them the day before the delivery to give them a 2 hour delivery slot, the drivers all carry the customers contact details and update the customers as they go to ensure that they do not have to sit around waiting all day for our deliveries.

In order to help reduce your waste bills we are happy to take back any old PVCu frames that you remove, we are unable to take back parts of frames or glass, but after we have unloaded your new frames feel free to put back on the lorry (space permitting) any old frames and we will re-cycle them.

We appreciate the fact that everything in life will not always run as smoothly as we would like! If you open an account with use we will endeavor to get things right first time, but when things go wrong we will try to manufacture and deliver remakes for you within 24 hours. If we do not have lorries passing your way then we will try and use our Technical reps or TNT as a last resort (please note we cannot TNT glass).
Once you start ordering we will also provide you with a hospital kit, consisting of add ons, cills, couples and spare furniture - the idea being that if you run out, forget to order or we don't deliver then at least you will have some items that you can use to continue installing. Please bear in mind that you will need to let us know when items need replenishing!
